It is a region open to the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Which offers all the maritime pleasures, Tonic and invigorating. Its historic ports of La Rochelle and Rochefort. To the east: the forests of Limousin with its walking, cycling or horse riding trails. The oaks, famous for making wine barrels. To the north: the Poitevin marsh, a labyrinth of greenery and water, where it is good to stroll, on small boats adapted to the marsh. To the south: the Cognac region, with its history – a king of France, François 1er was born there – and with its world-renowned vineyard. Without forgetting, in all the main cities of our region, Roman remains, cathedrals, historical monuments which bear witness to a rich past.

Al este: los bosques de Limousin con sus rutas de senderismo, ciclismo y equitación. Robles, famosa por la fabricación de barricas de vino. Al norte: el pantano poitevino, un laberinto de vegetación y agua, donde es agradable pasear, en pequeñas embarcaciones adaptadas al pantano. Al sur: la región de Cognac, con su historia (allí nació un rey de Francia, Francisco I) y sus viñedos de renombre mundial. Sin olvidar, en todas las principales ciudades de nuestra región, restos romanos, catedrales, monumentos históricos que dan testimonio de un rico pasado.

Au nord : le marais poitevin, un labyrinthe de verdure et d’eau, où il fait bon flâner, sur de petites barques adaptées au marais. Au sud : la région de Cognac, avec son histoire – un roi de France, François 1er y est né – et avec son vignoble mondialement réputé. Sans oublier, dans toutes les principales villes de notre région, des vestiges romains, des cathédrales, des monuments historiques qui témoignent d’un riche passé.
